Disney has scheduled its upcoming "Ghost Rider" feature film for a theatrical release on July 28, 2028, following updates to the studio's calendar coming out of the D23 event. The project will star Ryan Gosling as the Spirit of Vengeance.
Creative Team and Production Timeline
Shawn Levy will direct the film, working from a screenplay written by Jonathan Tropper. The production marks another collaboration between Gosling and Levy, who are also pairing up for "Star Wars: Starfighter," currently slated for release on May 28, 2027.
Broader Marvel Release Schedule
The "Ghost Rider" premiere anchors a heavy slate of Disney tentpole releases for 2028. The studio has also placed an untitled "X-Men" film on the calendar for May 5, 2028, and scheduled "Black Panther 3" for December 15 of that same year.
This calendar placement locks in the character's official entry into the current Marvel slate for the summer 2028 box office window.
