Gail Lerner has left her position as showrunner of the upcoming NBC sitcom Newlyweds after being fired due to creative differences, arriving just two weeks before the series debut.

Production Schedule And Replacement
Production will continue as planned despite the change in leadership. The network will use a pre-planned hiatus next week to find a replacement showrunner. NBC spokespersons confirmed that creative differences caused the dismissal. The series maintains its scheduled premiere date.
