Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel's Wolverine will release on September 15 for PlayStation 5, accompanied by full physical disc availability and a dedicated hardware bundle. Simultaneously, Marvel Studios has locked in a May 5, 2028 theatrical release date for its upcoming X-Men feature film and detailed its primary cast.

Gameplay and Hardware Lineup

Marvel's Wolverine follows a linear, story-driven structure complemented by optional exploration detours. The single-player campaign incorporates resource gathering, suit unlocks, Nightmare Doors combat trials, and a New Game Plus mode.

Insomniac confirmed that the physical media release contains the complete playable game, supplemented by a day-one patch. Alongside the software launch, Sony will release a limited-edition PS5 hardware bundle, standalone console covers, and a custom DualSense controller.

X-Men Cinematic Cast

Marvel Studios established the core roster for its upcoming cinematic reboot of the mutant franchise. Christopher Abbott leads the cast as Professor Charles Xavier, with Adam Driver assigned to the role of villain Mister Sinister.

The student roster features Kit Connor as Cyclops, Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrete as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm.

Both the September launch of Insomniac's title and the May 2028 film window establish a coordinated release timeline for Marvel's mutant properties across interactive and cinematic mediums, providing concrete release dates and hardware configurations for consumers.
