Mojang announced during the September 2026 Minecraft Live broadcast that The Sift will join vanilla Minecraft in 2027 as the game's first new dimension since 2011. The upcoming zone will be available on both Java and Bedrock editions.

Dimension Design and Atmosphere
The Sift will serve as the fourth official dimension alongside the Overworld, the Nether, and The End.
