Development and Director
According to MP1st, the upcoming title is helmed by director Shaun Escayag. Escayag previously led Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. The exact role of protagonist Nathan Drake remains unclear at this stage of production.
Studio Schedule
The project follows Naughty Dog's upcoming sci-fi game, Intergalactic. The new Uncharted title is anticipated to be at least a couple of years away from release. Naughty Dog also confirmed that multiple Last of Us projects are currently in the works alongside this new entry.
Furthermore, the studio has juggled multiple high-profile properties simultaneously in the past, and this upcoming slate reinforces their capacity for large-scale production. While the exact release window for the new Uncharted remains distant, the confirmation of Escayag's leadership provides a clear creative direction for the beloved adventure franchise moving forward.
MP1st reported that the upcoming adventure is scheduled to launch after the studio completes Intergalactic.
