Ariel Levy joins 60 Minutes as contributor for Season 59

Ariel Levy, staff writer at The New Yorker, is joining CBS News' 60 Minutes as a contributor for its upcoming 59th season. Her appointment comes as part of an extensive editorial overhaul led by executive producer Nick Bilton and editor-in-chief Bari Weiss.

Roster Changes and New Hires

Levy joins the broadcast alongside a wave of new hires that includes Ross Douthat, Sebastian Junger, Trevor Phillips, Gianna Toboni, and Norah O'Donnell.

The restructuring also brought significant departures from the established lineup. Former executive producer Tanya Simon and veteran correspondents Sharyn Alfonsi, Cecilia Vega, and Scott Pelley have all left the program.

Program Modernization

Season 59 of 60 Minutes is scheduled to debut on September 13.

Levy's inclusion and the broader staff shake-up are designed to modernize the long-running newsmagazine and shift its approach toward digital audiences ahead of the autumn premiere.
