Ubisoft has announced a full remake of Heroes of Might & Magic 3 featuring the original campaigns, expansions, and custom map support, while simultaneously releasing the original version on Steam without any game files, resulting in a dummy executable error.
The new remake includes a three-mission prelude, nine factions, and support for 25 years of custom maps. Meanwhile, the original game's Steam release costs $10, has a 23.49 KB install size, and launched with a dummy executable error due to missing game files.
Players purchasing the original game on Steam cannot currently play it until Ubisoft patches in the missing game files. Meanwhile, the upcoming remake will provide an updated version with modern tools while retaining the original campaigns and expansions.
