Publisher Whitethorn Games and developer Ephemera Games have confirmed that Kernel Hearts will release for the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 17, 2026. The announcement arrived alongside a dedicated release date trailer detailing the action title's core mechanics and distribution platform.
Gameplay and Cooperative Features
The action title will be available exclusively via the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop. Supporting both solo play and online cooperative multiplayer for up to four users, the game centers around a central hub laboratory. Between runs, players manage and equip up to 256KB of customizable skill chips to modify their capabilities.
Release Logistics
The September 17 launch establishes Kernel Hearts as an early digital release for Nintendo's upcoming hardware iteration. Players can access the full feature set, including the four-player cooperative mode and the chip-management system, directly through the eShop on launch day.
