A new lore analysis examined the powers and authority of Ronova regarding death and souls in Teyvat. The study compared these mechanics with the original authorities of the Three Moons and the mages of Simulanka.
- Ronova manages deaths within Teyvat and carries souls to the leylines.
- Ronova struck a deal with Xbalanque that exchanged life for power.
- The Primordial One split the authorities of the Three Moons into four distinct concepts.
- The four lunar concepts pair tentatively with mages representing Creation, Prophecy, and Fate.
Death and the Leylines
Ronova oversees the end of mortal life and handles the transfer of souls into the leylines. Her authority over mortality dictates specific rules for those who seek her power.
"My domain is death, and its power comes at a great price... The question is, are you prepared to pay?"
Ronova, Goddess of Death
Xbalanque addressed the requirements for this power.
"I need that power. Only a hero can truly wield it, and heroes are not afraid of dying."
Xbalanque, Hero
Ronova outlined the danger of that approach.
"No, a fear of death is ingrained in all living things. If the wielder of this power cannot conquer their fear, countless innocent lives will be claimed in their stead, for only then can the price be paid."
Ronova, Goddess of Death
Lunar Authorities
The analysis also focused on the celestial mechanics of the Three Moons. The Primordial One divided the lunar authorities into four distinct concepts. These concepts align tentatively with mages who represent Creation, Prophecy, and Fate.
Canon addressed fellow mages regarding operational rules.
"...Since Zbai has no objections, I have nothing more to say. However, Sonnet, as The Will of the Moon, you must not forget the basic formulae that keep the world running."
Canon, Mage
Canon issued instructions regarding academic tasks.
"Prepare yourself. I will set you some foundational problems on verifying morphological isomorphisms. You are not to go back to the surface until you have solved them all."
Canon, Mage
