The Russos confirmed that Avengers: Doomsday effectively starts from scratch, operating as a structural return to "phase zero" for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Rather than requiring audiences to navigate the entirety of the expansive 50-plus film library, the studio has isolated the exact narrative building blocks necessary to follow the upcoming crossover event.
