Former Bethesda developer Michael Kirkbride has released new worldbuilding documentation for his independent project 25th Crossing, introducing a post-apocalyptic iteration of Vvardenfell encircled by a colossal serpentine barrier.

The Post-Red Year Landscape

The newly published texts depict Morrowind following the catastrophic Red Year, set within an environment where physical space and linear time have broken down. Serpentine proto-spirits inhabit this fractured geography, actively consuming memory, knowledge, and emotional states from the remaining inhabitants. This setting ties directly into the mechanics of the Serpent constellation and incorporates the Celestial Serpent Malazar from The Elder Scrolls Online alongside the Scaled Blanket referenced in the Thirty-Six Lessons of Vivec, Sermon 33.

Unstars and Cosmic Mechanics

The documentation clarifies the metaphysical nature of unstars within the setting's cosmology, linking them to Sep—the Yokudan hungry void—and the entities referred to as Seppy snakes. By defining these entities, the texts establish a structural bridge between previous kalpas and contemporary celestial mechanics.

These additions formalize concepts that have long circulated in marginal design notes and community-accepted lore frameworks, providing explicit definitions for how void-entities operate across different iterations of the universe.
