Nintendo has confirmed a price increase for the Switch 2 hardware, alongside the introduction of a curated launch bundle and the immediate addition of Super Mario Sunshine to its subscription library.
Retail Price Adjustment
The suggested retail price for the Nintendo Switch 2 will rise to 499.99 EUR across European markets. The new pricing structure takes effect on September 1, impacting all standalone hardware purchases made on or after that date.
Custom Software Bundles
To offset the higher base hardware cost, Nintendo is introducing a custom bundle option for buyers. Customers purchasing the console can select one major title to include at the point of purchase, with choices spanning Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Pokémon Pokopia.
Nintendo Classics Expansion
Concurrent with the hardware announcements, the digital library for active subscribers has expanded. Super Mario Sunshine, originally released on the GameCube, is now accessible immediately within the Nintendo Classics catalog for all current members at no additional cost.
These adjustments position the hardware at a higher baseline heading into the autumn sales period, while offering software selection incentives for late-summer adopters and immediate retroactive content for existing subscribers.
