Activision has confirmed that the upcoming beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will include traditional multiplayer alongside the single-player campaign mission "Entrenched" and the new battle royale mode "Resurgence Zodiac".
Beta and Launch Schedules
The testing phase is split into two windows. The early access beta runs from August 21 to 25 for players who preorder, followed by an open beta from August 28 to September 1. The full title releases on October 23 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Preordering also grants players access to the full campaign one week early, starting on October 16.
Platform Support
The release entirely skips eighth-generation hardware, dropping support for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Additionally, the title will not launch directly into the Xbox Game Pass subscription service, requiring separate purchases across all supported platforms.
Players who secure preorders gain immediate entry to the August test phases and the mid-October campaign rollout, establishing the timeline for the final Q4 product launch.
