Former Rockstar Games developers dismissed during a unionization push have publicly asked fans not to boycott the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6 on November 19.

In October 2025, more than 30 staff members affiliated with the IWGB union lost their jobs. Rockstar stated that the terminations stemmed from leaking information regarding Grand Theft Auto 6. Conversely, the union filed legal claims accusing management of union-busting. The final trial regarding these claims is scheduled for September.
Alternative Support Methods
Rather than withholding purchases of the game, the affected workers are urging supporters to buy specific T-shirts. Revenue generated from these sales will directly fund their ongoing legal battle against the studio.
This strategy allows consumers to play Grand Theft Auto 6 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox upon release without participating in a commercial boycott, while simultaneously providing direct financial assistance to the former employees pursuing legal action.
