Nintendo and The Lego Group have officially confirmed the upcoming launch of traditional Super Mario Lego minifigures. This partnership milestone arrives six years after the companies introduced their first collaborative Lego Super Mario product line.
The Design and Teaser
The confirmation follows a corporate teaser released in March, which previewed Mario emerging from a Warp Pipe in standard minifigure scale. The figures feature a newly engineered, customized head design to accurately replicate the character's proportions while maintaining compatibility with standard Lego elements.
Product Line Expansion
The new minifigures mark a direct departure from the interactive, electronic figures that characterized the initial 2020 product ecosystem. While previous sets relied on built-in LCD screens and speakers, the upcoming release introduces traditional, non-electronic figures aimed at standard building and collection formats.
This shift broadens the Lego Super Mario portfolio to directly appeal to traditional minifigure collectors and builders who favored classic Lego formats over the interactive gaming sets.
