Developer team W3streams has announced Revenge of Ofir, an unofficial expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt scheduled for release in 2027. Built using the official REDkit modding tools, the project functions as a direct narrative continuation following the events of the Blood and Wine expansion.
Narrative and Regional Scope
The story follows Geralt of Rivia as he travels to the land of Ofir to address the death of the kingdom's heir. This expansion introduces a dedicated geographic region, distinct from the base game maps, and incorporates new enemies, items, and monster-hunting contracts. The developers have structured the campaign around non-linear quest design, allowing for player-driven narrative consequences consistent with the original game's mechanics.
Production and Technical Standards
W3streams has confirmed that the expansion will feature full Polish voice acting. Notably, the team secured Jacek Rozenek to reprise his role as Geralt of Rivia, explicitly excluding the use of generative AI for dialogue. The technical build also includes updated assets and a new Gwent card. To ensure quality control, the studio plans to distribute a preview build to select content creators for evaluation before the formal 2027 launch.
The release of Revenge of Ofir provides a substantial, high-fidelity content addition to The Witcher 3 ecosystem. By utilizing professional voice talent and official development tools, the project offers a production standard rarely seen in community-led modifications. This expansion ensures that players have access to a new, story-driven campaign set in an unexplored region of the franchise's lore well ahead of any potential official developer updates.
